Having joined the Promotional Products industry by default in August 1987, I soon got to grips with the benefits promotional products can have in promoting your business and services to your clients.
I celebrate 21 years in the industry this years and can safely say I am more enthusiastic now than ever about the industry, the products and the services we provide to you, the customer.
In 1987 an average order would be £1000 and delivery would be 4 weeks (on an express service). In 2008 LSi will be taking average orders or around £900 but our express service (on certain items) will be 48 hours!!
You will e-mail your order, we'll provide artwork in digital format and e-mail back for approval, you'll approve and we'll deliver next day. A far cry from the telex and brand new fax machine we had to use in 1987!!
Communications may have changed and everything has been speeded up but ultimately the product has remained the same. Our industry puts your message on a product that enables your to put that message in front of your client daily.
However, anybody can sell you a t-shirt or mug that will do just that, at LSi we like to try a little harder and sell you a solution. The mug or t-shirt might not be appropriate for your marketplace, better still we may have a new product that might create more interest.
Ultimately, this is why I go to work every day and enjoy it as much as I did in '87, we offer solutions , we don't sell gifts, we are problem solvers and there's always a new solution or gift.
